Canon TX Top and Bottom Cover Removal

With film door open, insert the shaft of a screwdriver in the film rewind fork, and unscrew rewind knob.
All done here.
Using a spanner wrench (or similar tool), remove advance lever trim nut.
Remove black trim washer.
Remove the two small set screws from advance lever retaining nut.
Using a spanner wrench (or similar tool), remove retaining nut. IMPORTANT: NUT IS LEFT-HAND THREAD, TURN CLOCKWISE TO REMOVE.
Spring washer.
Flat washer.
Remove the film advance lever.
Remove advance lever coupler.
You're done here.
Set shutter speed to 500, film speed (ASA) to 25. Using a spanner wrench (or similar tool), remove shutter/film speed dial retaining screw.
Remove shutter/film speed dial.

Shutter/film speed dial coupler is marked (in this case, in blue) at the factory. Note that the two brass washers are loose; if you invert camera body, they will fall off.
OK, the hard parts are done.
Remove battery cap.
Remove top lens mount trim ring screw. Keep this screw seperate, as it is slightly different than remaining screws.
Remove screw at advance lever side.
Remove the two screws on either side of viewfinder.
Gently work top cover off the camera body.
There is open space between viewfinder and pentaprism. Compressed air can be used to blow dust off the back of the pentaprism glass.

Take care not to stress the flash sync wire.

Re-assemble in reverse order. Take care not to pinch flash sync wire when re-installing top cover.
To remove bottom cover, remove screw at advance lever side.
Remove the two screws at bottom.
The bottom of the Canon TX exposed.
