Removing the top cover of the Minolta SR-7.
Remove screw.
Remove screw.
Remove screw.
It may be necessary to remove strap ring to access the screw.
Remove screw.
With a screwdriver shaft placed in the fork of the rewind shaft, unscrew rewind knob.
Be carefull not to push rewind shaft into film compartment.
Use a piece of rubber to grip and unscrew shutter button trim ring.
Remove the film advance lever retaining nut with a spanner wrench.
Remove the film advance lever.
All done here.
Set ASA to 3200. Remove the three screws from the side ASA/shutter-speed knob and remove.
All done on this side.
Unscrew viewfinder lens.
Unscrew viewfinder accessory bezel.
Plastic washer.
Done here.
You can now lift off the top cover.
Front view with cover removed. Remove the two spring clips to clean underside of pentaprism.
Back view.
Close-up right front.
Close-up right rear.
Close-up left front.
Close-up left rear.
The meter window frame had distorted from age and jammed the meter needle.
The plastic window frame was flattened using heat and pressure. Frame clips in between the wires as shown.
