Removing the top cover of the Minolta SRT101.
Remove the two screws on either side of the viewfinder.
There is one screw on the film advance side.
There is a red dot on the front, just under the "minolta" that covers a screw head. Pry this red dot up (it's a little metal disk) with a sewing needle.
Remove the slotted screw.
Unscrew the rewind knob by placing the shaft of a screwdriver in the fork of the rewind shaft.
Unscrew the cover disk using a spanner wrench.
All done here.
Unscrew the cover disk using a spanner wrench.
Remove the wave washer.
Remove the flat washer.
Remove the film advance lever.
All done here.
Set shutter speed to Bulb and ASA to 6400. Remove the screw in the center of the shutter-speed dial and lift of the knob assembly; it will fall apart. When reassembling, insert the spring, ASA dial, and shutter-speed dial into the knob. Compress the spring so the prongs on the ASA dial stick out through the bottom of the knob (one prong is longer than the other). Insert the long prong into the larger slot in the ASA ring on the body and press down the whole knob assembly to prevent it from springing apart. Now, still holding it down, turn the shutter-speed dial by itself until the hole in the disk lines up with the hole in the center post and inser the screw.
All done here.
The top cover can now be removed.
If the cover does not come off, make sure you have removed all necessary parts and screws.
